Chongqing plans to establish an industrial cluster for intelligent, connected, and new-energy vehicle components within five years.

Chongqing Daily reports (Reporter Xia Yuan): On September 1, the “Special Action Plan for Upgrading the Chongqing Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Components Industry Cluster (2023–2027) (Draft for Public Comment)” (hereinafter referred to as the “Plan”) was released to solicit public input and suggestions. The Plan sets out that by 2027, the city aims to establish an intelligent connected new energy vehicle components industry cluster characterized by cross‑domain integration and coordinated upstream–downstream collaboration, with a cumulative addition of 800 new enterprises in this sector and total revenue reaching RMB 700 billion.
According to the Plan, our city will focus on seven key categories—power battery systems, intelligent chassis systems, intelligent connected systems, electronic components, automotive software, lightweight components, and thermal management systems—and will pursue initiatives in ten priority areas, including strengthening collaboration between vehicle manufacturers and component suppliers, accelerating the transformation and upgrading of traditional component firms, and optimizing the industrial spatial layout in the western Chongqing region.
In terms of industrial spatial planning, our city will support the central urban area in continuously expanding its complete vehicle production and sales capacity, with a focus on developing foundational products such as automotive software and automotive chips. We will also help the eight districts in western Chongqing become the cornerstone of the city’s intelligent connected new‑energy vehicle components industry, aiming to achieve an output value of RMB 400 billion for this sector in the region by 2027.
